A couple of weeks ago we published this blog on Chinese investment in Sierra Leone on the Black Johnson Beach. Until today, the project is still a hot topic that has not come to a satisfactory closure for all. During the last weeks, our Land for Life colleagues in Sierra Leone talked with a lot of different stakeholders and tried to bring them together to find a common solution for all. Our colleague Berns Komba Lebbie had the chance to speak with Al Jazeera about it. In his contribution, Berns has reiterated the civil society opposition to the destruction of the pristine forest on Black Johnson Beach and calls on the government to initiate a multi-actor dialogue process on the said Fish Harbour project. The Sierra Leonean civil society is holding the government accountable for its commitment to protecting the environment and to administer land and natural resources responsibly.

      Thanks.
Following this call, a mass community engagement meeting is scheduled on Monday at Black Johnson Town hall. The Ministry of Fisheries will play a video showcasing the plan and proposed infrastructure.
